Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho Not Indispensable at Manchester United

Upon taking charge of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim wasted no time in making sweeping changes. It’s worth remembering that during the last winter transfer window, Manchester United sent Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia out on loan to Aston Villa, Real Betis, and PSV Eindhoven, respectively, for half a year. Notably, two other key players, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, were also close to leaving Old Trafford.

Chelsea showed serious interest in both of these players, while SSC Napoli kept a close eye on the Argentine as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Although the midfielder and winger ultimately stayed at Manchester United, their futures remain uncertain. According to the British newspaper “The Guardian,” Manchester United is still open to selling the duo if attractive offers come in.

The Red Devils are planning a thorough overhaul of their squad, and 19-year-old Kobbie Mainoo and 20-year-old Alejandro Garnacho don’t entirely fit into Ruben Amorim’s vision. Importantly, selling these young talents could provide the financial boost needed to strengthen the team.
