Who Will Win the Africa Cup of Nations 2023/2024?
The Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in 2023. And during one month, 24 African teams will slug it out trying to become the 33rd winner of the title.
Even though certain countries have dominated the tournament in the past, in the past few years we are seeing some uprisings that suggest that the tournament is open for all to win. In 2019, we saw how both the defending champions Cameroon and the host country Egypt were eliminated in the group stages.
Here is a detailed look at each Africa Cup of Nations odds for each country and predictions for their performance at the tournament. The Africa Cup of Nations outright odds are not yet available but will be when the tournament is closer.
Algeria Odds
With 2 titles to their names, the Desert Foxes will hope to make it their third, and the second in a row after winning the last title in 2019. With Riyad Mahrez and Saïd Benrahma upfront and playmaker Ismaël Bennacer in midfield, Algeria has a potent attacking threat.
Cameroon Odds

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will be competing for their 6th title after winning it last in 2017.
With their dynamic captain Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, the Lions will be hoping to pass through the group stages and make a go for the title this time around. The outright odds for Cameroon
Guinea Odds
The Guinea team had their best performance in 1976 when they were runners-up. The team will want to put in a better performance this time around as they have the Liverpool deep-lying playmaker Naby Keita playing in their midfield.
Guinea-Bissau Odds
The Guinea-Bissau team has only played in the Africa Cup of Nations 2 times, next year makes it their 3rd. They would hope to make it out of the group stages, so we expect them to put on a strong display in their group stage games against Egypt, Sudan, and Egypt.
Equatorial Guinea Odds
After a 4th place finish in 2015, Equatorial Guinea will hope to better their record at the tournament next year. We expect a very competitive display from the team in their group-stage matches against Algeria, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast.
Gambia Odds
This is the first time the Gambian team will be competing in the AFCON. They will be hoping to cause upsets in their group-stage games against Tunisia, Mali and Mauritania.
Morocco Odds
With just one title to their name, the Moroccans will be in Cameroon to win again. And with a team that consists of Achraf Hakimi and Romain Saiss in Defence and Youssef En-Nesyri and Hakim Ziyech at the forward line, the Atlas Eagles are poised to go all the way to the end.
Malawi Odds
The Flames of Malawi will hope to do better than their last outing in 2010 where they were eliminated in the group stages, but not before winning 3-0 against Algeria. We expect a scintillating display from them in their group games.
Mali Odds
The Eagles of Mali will want to make this edition of the Africa Cup of Nations count, as they have been runners-up just once in 1972. With a roster of players that are making waves in European leagues, the Mali team is sure to cause an upset in their group games.
Senegal Odds
While the Lions of Teranga have not yet won their first AFCON title, they would hope to do so in Cameroon in January. With the prolific Sadio Mane up front, Idrissa Gueye manning the midfield, the rock-solid Kalidou Koulibaly at the back and the goalkeeping wonder Edouard Mendy at the goalpost, Senegal will be the team to beat.
Comoros Odds
As this is their first international tournament, we don’t expect so much from the Les Coelacanths.
But we see them fighting to progress from their group stage, which consists of Morocco, Gabon and Ghana. You can be sure of some amazing displays from the team.
Egypt Odds
The Pharaohs of Egypt will be back with a bang for their 8th record title after being dismissed at the group stage the last time. And with Mohamed Salah having the time of his life at Liverpool and the long-range specialist Mohamed Elneny, this may be the best time to get that 8th title.
Zimbabwe Odds
With 5 appearances in the competition and their best performance being a fourth-place finish in 2014, Zimbabwe will hope to better their record next year in Cameroon. With a group consisting of Guinea, Senegal, and Malawi, we expect a strong group display.
Nigeria Odds
The Super Eagles will hope for a 4th title at the 33rd edition of the competition in Cameroon, after finishing third place in 2019. With free-scoring forwards such as Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu, the Super Eagles will be the team to defend against
Ethiopia Odds
After claiming the title in 1962 in the 3rd edition of AFCON, Ethiopia has not been a strong contender in the following years. We do not expect so much from the Ethiopian team.
Cape Verde Odds
After a quarter-final finish in 2013, the Cape Verde team were not able to go further in 2015 but will be hoping to make a strong start against Ethiopia in their first game in the competition.
Burkina Faso Odds
The stallions were runner-up in the 2013 edition of AFCON and will put on a strong display to advance beyond the group stages in Cameroon next year.
Tunisia Odds
With a title won in 2004 when they hosted the tournament, Tunisia has struggled to replicate their magic to no avail until when their 4th-place finish in 2019. They are a formidable contender for the title this time around. Expect them to advance beyond the group stages.
Gabon Odds

The Brazilians, as they are fondly called, will hope to make it out of the group stage and past the quarter-finals as they have been quarter-finalists two times in 1996 and 2012. With talismanic striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, they have a formidable attacking threat.
Ghana Odds
As 4-time winners of the tournament, the Black Stars of Ghana will be there to add a fifth title as they have waited since 1982, which is the last time they won the title. With a midfield consisting of Thomas Partey and Andre Ayew, and Jordan Ayew leading the forwards, the Black Stars will be a strong contender for the title.
Ivory Coast Odds
Ivory Coast has two AFCON titles to their name and will play their hearts out to get the third one in Cameroon. With a defence consisting of Eric Baily and Serge Aurier and fast attackers like Nicolas Pepe and Sébastien Haller, the Elephants will be a formidable threat.
Sudan Odds
As a one-time winner of the competition in 1970, the Sudanese national team are a very strong contender for the title. We expect a strong display in their group-stage games against Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau and Egypt.
Mauritania Odds
This is the second appearance of the Mauritania national team at the AFCON tournament. We expect a strong group display from the team Lions of Chinguetti.
Sierra Leone Odds
The Sierra Leone national team were suspended and couldn’t compete in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019, but they are back stronger to compete. The Leone stars will hope to stage an upset against Algeria in their first game of the competition.
