It appears that AS Roma is gearing up for a busy winter transfer window. The Giallorossi have been underperforming this season, prompting the club to consider several reinforcements to salvage the current campaign. Social media reports by Ekrem Konur suggest that the Italian club has its sights set on Max Aarons of Premier League‘s AFC Bournemouth.
Max Aarons on Roma’s Radar
Andoni Iraola, the current manager of AFC Bournemouth, has not been giving Aarons much playing time, signaling a potential exit for the full-back in the January transfer window. The former England U-21 international has been largely sidelined this season, making just one appearance and logging only 15 minutes on the pitch. Consequently, Bournemouth is likely to send him out on loan. Besides Roma, Eintracht Frankfurt has also shown interest in the right-back.
The Jamaican-descended player joined The Cherries in August 2023 from Norwich City for over 8 million euros. While his initial period at Dean Court was promising, Aarons has since found himself on the bench more often than not. AS Roma is considering his acquisition due to their weak right-back options, with underwhelming performances from Zeki Celik, Saud Abdulhamid, and Buba Sangare.
