The Barcelona squad dominated Valencia with a 7-1 victory this Sunday (26) at Lluís Companys stadium during the 21st round of La Liga. Frenkie de Jong opened the scoring just three minutes into the game, while Ferran Torres doubled the lead at eight minutes.

Raphinha netted the third goal by the 14th minute. Fermín López increased the tally at the 24-minute mark and scored again during injury time.

Lamine Yamal did not score but made notable plays in the first half. The Barcelona forward showcased his skill by maneuvering the ball between an opponent’s legs after feinting past a defender.

Valencia managed to get on the scoreboard with Hugo Duro’s goal at the 13th minute of the second half. Barcelona further extended the lead with a goal by Lewandowski and an own goal by Tárrega.

Closing in on Second Place

This win brought Barcelona to 42 points, narrowing the gap to just three points behind second-placed Atlético de Madrid, who now have 45 points after a 1-1 draw with Villarreal.

Moreover, this result increased Barcelona’s lead over fourth-placed Athletic Bilbao, who played to a goalless draw against Leganés. Nevertheless, the deficit to league leaders Real Madrid remains at seven points.

The Merengues secured a 3-0 victory over Valladolid. The forward Kylian Mbappé scored all the goals, taking center stage, especially noticeable due to Vinícius Júnior’s absence because of suspension.
