Bad news for Christopher Nkunku. Bayern Munich has made it clear that the French international is not part of their plans.

In June 2023, Christopher Nkunku made a grand entrance at Chelsea. The French international signed a six-year contract for the astounding sum of 60 million euros.

“I am very pleased to take on this challenge,” Nkunku stated.

However, the challenge quickly turned into a nightmare. The 27-year-old winger struggled to establish himself as a key player in the Blues’ attack, with injuries further complicating his situation. Rumors of his departure started to spread, but the London club was not willing to let him go.

The situation has changed, and both sides have reportedly agreed to part ways. Bayern Munich then appeared on the scene and enquired about the striker’s price. At least, that was the expectation. A swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku and Mathys Tel, however, is simply not feasible.

Despite being linked with a move to Bayern Munich, Christopher Nkunku now has to consider other options. The German club is not interested.

“Our squad is well-prepared both in terms of numbers and skill. There’s no reason for us to pursue any transfers in January,” stated Max Eberl, the German club’s sporting director.
