Bayern Munich has been pushing for the acquisition of Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea for the past few weeks. However, The Blues’ transfer fee demands pose a significant challenge.
Chelsea is currently seeking 70 million euros for the French star. Given the 27-year-old’s recent form, this amount appears considerably inflated.
The Bavarian side has no intention of agreeing to such a high expenditure. They are, therefore, contemplating a loan deal with an option to buy.
This strategy would allow Die Roten to first evaluate Christopher Nkunku before making a decision on a potential permanent transfer.
Meanwhile, CaughtOffside reports that Mathys Tel has entered the negotiations. The 19-year-old forward is ready to leave Bayern and has attracted interest from Chelsea, among others.
Bayern hopes to leverage this situation to their advantage in discussions regarding Nkunku. A successful deal involving Tel could facilitate smoother talks about acquiring the Chelsea player.
With the transfer window set to close on February 3rd, both parties need to expedite negotiations if they wish to enter the second phase of the season with their desired signings.
