As the new season of the English Premier League approaches, teams are actively bolstering their line-ups with fresh transfers. Here’s a roundup of the most recent transfer activities and what fans can look forward to in the near future.
Tottenham Acquires Yang Min-Hyuk From Gangwon FC
Tottenham has secured 18-year-old Yang Min-Hyuk on a five-year contract that extends until 2030. The young South Korean talent has impressed with eight goals in his 25 matches for Gangwon, becoming the youngest K League scorer since 2013 after netting his first goal in March.
This move continues Tottenham’s tradition of recruiting South Korean players, following the footsteps of current captain Son Heung-min and former player Lee Young-pyo.
Yang will complete the current K League season with Gangwon before officially joining Tottenham in January.
Southampton Near Completion of Brereton Diaz Deal
Southampton is on the verge of finalizing a transfer with Villareal for forward Ben Brereton Diaz, with negotiations pointing to a £7m deal. The 25-year-old transferred to Villa last summer after spending five years at Blackburn.
The Chilean-born Diaz struggled to make a notable impact in La Liga, failing to score in his 20 outings for Villareal, and starting in just six of those matches.
Diaz found better form during his loan to Sheffield United in January, scoring six goals in 14 Premier League appearances, though his efforts were not enough to prevent the club from facing relegation last season.
Conversely, Southampton earned promotion back to the Premier League last season by winning the Championship play-offs but will now have to compete without last year’s key player, Che Adams.
Southampton has finalized agreements to bring in Sao Paulo forward Juan and left-back Wellington. These players are anticipated to join the team when their contracts in Brazil conclude in January 2025.

Chelsea Acquire Jorgensen and Anselmino
Chelsea has been active this offseason, acquiring Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen and Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino.
The 22-year-old Jorgensen was secured for a £20.7m fee and is poised to ink a seven-year contract stretching until 2031. Jorgensen is projected to become Chelsea’s primary goalkeeper, raising questions about Djordje Petrovic’s future with the club. Robert Sanchez, having missed much of last season due to injury, is expected to serve as the backup.
Jorgensen is likely to join Chelsea for their US tour, where they will compete against Celtic, Club America, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.
In addition, centre-back Anselmino, who was acquired for £15.6m, will be loaned back to Boca Juniors until at least January. At just 19 years old, Anselmino is seen as a future star, similar to Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian.
Anselmino is also anticipated to agree to a seven-year contract lasting until 2031. Nevertheless, Chelsea will spread the transfer costs for both players over five years in their financial records. These acquisitions increase their summer spending to an estimated £110m.
Everton Brings in Jesper Lindstrom From Napoli
Everton has secured Napoli midfielder Jesper Lindstrom on loan, with an option to purchase in 2025. The financial specifics of the deal remain undisclosed by both clubs, but reports suggest Everton paid around 3 million euros as a loan fee.
The Danish professional joined Napoli from the Bundesliga’s Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 and has appeared 29 times for the Italian club. Additionally, he has represented his national team 16 times.
Lindstrom played a starting role in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Europa League final win against Rangers in 2022, notching 12 goals in 57 Bundesliga matches. Known for his flexibility as a midfielder, he did not score during his debut season in Italy and saw limited playing time towards the season’s conclusion.
Everton also secured a deal for forward Iliman Ndiaye from Ligue 1’s Olympique de Marseille, signing him to a five-year contract this summer.
