Manchester United has recently received numerous inquiries about the availability of Marcus Rashford. The tenure of this Red Devils’ academy product at Old Trafford seems to be nearing its end. The possibility exists that the Englishman may switch employers as early as January.
AC Milan emerged as the most serious contender for acquiring Rashford. Representatives from the Milan club met with Rashford’s camp to discuss the potential transfer.
Although the player himself was keen on a move to Italy, the clubs couldn’t reach an agreement. Matteo Moretto reported that financial discrepancies were the major sticking point.
Currently, it appears that the discussion about Rashford moving to Milan has been shelved. Interestingly, FC Barcelona is now trying to secure the services of the English international.
Before Barcelona can take definitive steps, they need to free up space in their squad. Candidates for departure could include Ansu Fati, who hasn’t found favour under the management of Hansi Flick, or Eric Garcia.
Barcelona and Milan are not the only options for Marcus Rashford. Premier League clubs are also showing interest in the winger, who is equally effective as a number nine. Recently, he has been linked with West Ham United and Tottenham.
Rashford has scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists in 24 matches across all competitions in the 2024/2025 season so far.
