Erick Kapaito was born on the 25th of December 1995 in Namanga, a town bisected by the Tanzania-Kenya border. He showed great passion for football and was talented from a young age.
Kapaito played for clubs, including Ligi Ndogo in 2016, and FC Talanta in 2017.
A year after that, he joined Kariobangi Sharks and the Kenya National team in 2018, where he played as a striker.
He performed so well during 2018 and won the award of the 2018 Kenyan Premier League top scorer and new/young player with 16 goals scored. His performance put him on the radar, and he started getting a lot of recognition.
Not long after winning this award, Kapaito won the golden boot award and became the first Kenyan player to get such a reward.

Kapaito started playing football at a young age. When he joined the Laiser Hill Secondary School, he managed to help his school get the national school ball games title, securing them a place at the East African school games.
He marked his entry into a football club with a bang, scoring 21 goals for the Nairobi Provincial League. Shortly after that, the National Super League FC Talanta came running after his signature in 2017.
A year later, the opportunity to play on a big stage was placed before him when he joined the Kariobangi Sharks club. During the 2018 season, Kapaito outscored other players and won the golden boot award and received the top scorer and most valuable player for the 2018 season.
Despite being the top scorer, he didnβt make any moves out of the country, yet he set new goals to achieve in the future.
This year, he made his dream come true after netting 24 goals for Kariobangi Sharks and doubling up the MVP award with Golden Boot Crown. This dream became a reality at the FKF Premier League awards ceremony after getting two of the most valuable prizes in the 2020/21 FKF Premier League awards.

After the unforgettable season with the Kariobangi Sharks, he made history by becoming the first player to win the MVP award twice. For sure, it didnβt stop there because the striker decided to recreate his golden boot-winning performance with the national team during the World Cup qualifications.
The 25-year-old striker, who managed to secure his place as the top scorer twice in a row, leaves Kariobangi Sharks for the Ethiopian club Arba Minch this September 2021. Therefore, this is his first move out of the country after playing for his national team and winning outstanding awards.
