History of Masoud Juma
Masoud Juma Choka is a Kenyan Football player. He was born on 3 February 1996 in Isiolo, a town in Isiolo County, located in the middle of Kenya.
Masoud Juma was in primary school when he began playing football. He led his Isiolo Barracks team to the Coca-Cola/AFCO Inter military Schools Championship during secondary school. He was named Tournament MVP with five goals.
Additionally, he starred for Isiolo Youth Football Club in the Kenyan Country Champions League during this period. After that, he joined the FKF Division One club a short while before starting his professional career.
Masoud Juma In Kenya
Masoud Juma has shown great talent and love for football since he was a child. A short time after joining the FKF Division One club, the Kenyan National Super League team discovered him during the national talent search in Kasarani.
In 2014, Masoud Juma scored five goals in three months, which helped him become in the same class as the legendary Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech. As a result, this allowed him to sign a two-year deal with the Kenyan Premier League Bandari football club.
Next, in the 2015 season, Masoud Juma started the season with hope. Unfortunately, during the game against SoNy Sugar football club, he experienced an ankle injury that kept him out for more than five months. Moreover, in September the same year, he returned and helped the team close out the season, finishing in fourth place.
Besides his strong showing after the ankle injury, he didn’t receive as much playing as he expected during the first half of the 2016 season. Then, he even made it evident on social media that he is looking for a new football club to join. In June 2016, he was associated with SoNy Sugar and signed with them. Furthermore, staying with this club helped him increase his stock in the eyes of various teams around the league.
The following year was a good year for him. In January 2017, the Kariobangi Sharks Premier League side picked him up. Scoring five goals in the President’s Cup Campaign, including two goals against SoNy Sugar, Juma secured the Kariobangi Sharks first-ever appearance in the finals, winning third place.
This is a dream come true for him after winning the 2017 FKF Premier League Golden Boot award while playing for his national team.
Masoud Juma International Career
The player began training with Swedish clubs Jonkopings Sodra and AIK in June 2017, then with Bidvest Wits in July, before joining the South African professional football club Cape Town City in August 2018.
Furthermore, his senior international appearance came in 2017, when he was named in the starting lineup of a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game versus Sierra Leone.
Two months later, he earned his second cap in an exhibition match against Mauritania. He scored a goal in the 58th minute, but it wasn’t considered a full international match since Kenya’s B team comprised local football players.
In September 2018, he signed for the Emirates club Dibba Al Fujairah before joining the Libyan champions Al-Nasr Benghazi.
Then, in 2019, he left Al-Nasr Benghazi to join JS Kabylie club. He played for this club until January 2021, when he moved to the Moroccan football club Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi.
Moreover, one of his significant achievements as a football player goes back to 2017 when he won the title of the FKF Premier League golden boot as the top scorer for this year. Additionally, during the 2017 CECAFA cup, he was listed as one of the ultimate goal scorers with two scored goals. Plus, he is the seventh on the list of the most valuable Kenyan players worldwide.
