History of the Cape Verde Team in AFCON

The Cape Verde Africa Cup of Nations performances have been mixed ever since the nation became independent from Portugal in 1975.

In 1994, the team became eligible for AFCON qualification. However, the nation did not reach the final stages in 1994.
